Hunter X Hunter 20: Brother’s Boy

February 21st, 2012 by Mr.A

That’s it for the Hunter exam. What can I say, it’s a roller-coaster ride of dull and interesting things all together. Sadly, the new series seem to skip on putting importance on the last phase of the exam. There’s rarely any fighting in it. But I doubt they will skip on the tournament part later in the series. But first, we get to have a little detour in the way.

What on earth is happening in this Anime. This guy is dangerous. Even a shotacon will not drool this much … Nah who am I kidding. But seriously, how can you accurately identify people and sketch them in perfect detail with just the sound of their voice? It’s OVER 9000!!!

Chihayafuru 19: Fat Bromance

February 17th, 2012 by Mr.A

I wasn’t able to write anything about last week. It’s not like it’s bad, I just happen to have no time doing it or in other words: I’m Lazy. This week is the continuation of an intense battle between team mates in achieving their dreams.

Finding something to say. Finding something to say … Well, there’s nothing to say new since the old one. Nothing to nag about since it’s a nice development episode of Natsume and Tanuma. Rather, I find the bromance suit my tastebuds. But that’s merely my fanboy talking. But I like the image above if you take the context out of the window and judge by the picture. Ah … why I can’t find any doujin of these in the net.

Knight in the Area 6: Biggest Looser

Did he underwent some kind of weight loss surgery here? I don’t think you can loose all that weight for such a short amount of time. Or is he hiding a pillow in his stomach. Either way, it’s forced drama.

And in a delightful display of child abuse, Hunter x Hunter just showed how old works are made classics. If you hadn’t felt theĀ frustrationĀ of everyone being driven to the point of fury, then it means that you don’t have a soul! You can’t see this violence that is meaningful, which isn’t just about making you cringe in the utter gore it brings.

On an interesting note: This is one hell of a great fanservice episode; If this is what the author is going for. I really like the story here, where Natsume is driven off the wall and has no option but to rely on his friends to save him. He can’t save everybody and he also needs saving. So there. But Nyanko-sensei won’t make Natsume’s reputation any better.

That’s also my expression while watching this episode. I have to rummage in this pile of bad comedy just find something interesting to say. Even so, there’s this problem with bad acting and forced drama to deal with. I know that the mangaka liked Cross Game so much, that he inspire himself to make his own. But I never expect it to pattern it exactly as Adachi would had done. The character design is better than Adachi, but unless I’m seeing Kakeru in a G-string bikini, this wouldn’t work in my favour.

If we are going for the one-shot stories, then anything that involves Natsume’s past is very much welcome. Even if it’s becoming repetitive, his past is a good way to get further closer to him. Comparing the past vs the present is one thing to gauge how far the character’s have gone, and how things were used to. Here they took the similar formula but tweak it to be more in a bitter-sweet end. I like the scene above since I sort of felt what she felt being the only person who see’s him beyond the weird. She would had been a nice girlfriend.

Hunter x Hunter 17: Snakes in a Cave

Ain’t Gon cute? Seeing the latest chapter of Hunter X Hunter, who wouldn’t want to see this face again in the manga. I like this episode, even if it’s a bit slow. That hesitation on his answer if he got his tag should be a give away that he didn’t have them. Kurapika and Lerio knew that something’s up, but chose not to meddle further. I like how things just turn without saying anything, and if those body language get to you, then you are paying attention and certainly you like this series.
