That’s also my expression while watching this episode. I have to rummage in this pile of bad comedy just find something interesting to say. Even so, there’s this problem with bad acting and forced drama to deal with. I know that the mangaka liked Cross Game so much, that he inspire himself to make his own. But I never expect it to pattern it exactly as Adachi would had done. The character design is better than Adachi, but unless I’m seeing Kakeru in a G-string bikini, this wouldn’t work in my favour.
We would had wasted our time if Kakeru refuses to play even after knowing his heart story. It seems that this episode came forced on the drama and left a lot of moments in the Manga that would had worked better in its favour. Interestingly enough, they’re playing the Cellular Memory theory here, which prompted me to research more on it.
One of the big things that made 2012 great so far, is that we can now see 1080p releases. That’s one major improvement, next to Animes being released in 720p. I wish I can go legit and watch from CR. But geographical restrictions are just cumbersome and it won’t let fans get what it wants. Still, Knight in the Area 3 shows that it can pull a stunt in a slightly decent portrayal of losing a love one. I like the subtle approach on this episode, but I would wish that the director to stop treating its audience like they’re brain-dead. I can piece the information myself thank you very much.
If you are going to take queue, at least do it properly. Everything in this episode came forced. The acting, the circumstances, even the tragedy. Nothing blends. It’s like they throw anything to instigate drama. Nothing is foreshadowed. The characters haven’t mature enough for me to care. Killing one won’t made cry man tears for it. Ugh.
I like drama, specially when its good. This series, or rather, the creator did admire the person behind Cross Game and Touch. I would’t vouch for Touch, but I would say that this person has a great taste for drama. The first episode did have that subtle approach in delivering the character’s feelings, which is good, for an Anime show that it knows what it is. What bother’s me is that will this be a everlasting-Anime? Because I would love to blog this if it weren’t.
