The previous arch did foresee the impending separation of our two lovebirds. This has been a running impediment since Victorique is being dragged around Saubre to solve cold cases, which the Coco Roso case that was a product of multi-layer deception only to realize that the king is behind the murder of their beloved Queen. Crime of passion goes deep, even royals can get itself involve in such controversial mix of emotions. Read the rest of this entry
Wow. Kujo does have some brains. I really like how the musical score in this series ups the mood, in ways that it makes the mystery, the scenario and the character development as if it were something of a climactic moment. If the Blu-ray comes out, it would had the best advantage of that multi-surround sound you might had. Or simply bring the most gothic eargasmic experience yet. This episode is simply a continuation to the grand mystery of the series. A likely end to our ordeal of half bad-ass series.
We got another amazing episode of Gosick. I was worried with all that happy music playing in the episode preview last time. I was thinking that we’ll be back to the “mediocre” side of this story. Well, I’m happy that they ran out of excuses to put up with it. I frown on how Victorica was a victim of a rape, by some mad man who can’t seem to get over with the fact that magic is fake. Or was it really his front. But anyway, we’re starting with another “big” mystery here. I was under the impression that this will be the grandest of yet, and perhaps this will span until the end of the series. But anyway … Read the rest of this entry
We got another wonderful episode of Gosick here. The epic momentum it carried over the last one, carried over with a short mystery concluding the mystery of the Memento box that both sides wanted so dearly. We also get another subtle fanservice with Victorique on a Maid outfit, that makes up for those Type B fans as Anime fandom labels.
“Amazing.” That’s how I can summarise this entire episode of Gosick. Everything is done in grandeur, worthy of all that what was laid before us. We get to see a serious side of Gosick outside the realms of your typical mystery. We’re being brought to an epic battle that her father, Brian Roscoe and Cordellia been fighting for years. Kujo on the other hand became a shining character on this episode, being a very reliable sidekick of Victorique and the knight of shining Armor. Amazing, just simply Amazing.

This episode of Gosick is brought to you by crazy-eyed nuns. Bringing the religion to unspeakable proportions…Well, at least Gosick isn’t dumping us with another uninteresting mystery. We also get to go our Saubre and to some country down south for some experiment with that pointy haired parent. Kujo isn’t being a retard as he is today. Too bad, I won’t be able to see his uniform for some time.

No it’s not Anton who’s doing the Gosick Episode blog, it will be me for now, yours truly. Gosick isn’t really that anime that you’ll see something that at least have a caliber compared to Star Driver, which was FABUOLOS and has loads of meterosexual bishounen, like me -HAHA! But what keeps me watching it, beside that I had started, is belive me or not, is the uniforms of the Sauville Academy, more on Kujo’s. Also, Victorique and Kujo’s chemistry to each other.
So far in its run. 70% of the story is crap. Mostly due to Kujo being stupid, even in the most easiest mysteries presented. Saving grace is, of course, Victorique and Kujo’s interactions with each other. But for the 30%, it was the best, well thought mysteries, particularly when it involves either, reality events, or Victorique. Episode 15, or rather, the Leviathan arc just shows us, that at least, Gosick has its moments. And it was hell of a ride.
Maybe because I’m a fan of Metal Gear, that I always find fascination when fiction taps to reality to tie its story from. The story of the lost gold, and Alchemy, being that Sauvillee seems to see paranormal as a national interest. Goes hand in hand, with the involvement in the last great war, and the colonial expansion to the west. If we remember, in the Gray Wolf arc. The chief, also mentions something hinted as, Victorique is the key for Sauville’s position in the inevitable second world war, only a decade to go. Since Saubre is a fictional country, its stance in the war is unknown. Saubre took part in the first world war, in determining the victory with that Ghost ship arc, remembering it now, I think they remained a neutral country.
Outside the scope of the relationship of the fiction to non-fiction. Character perspective, Kujo is pretty much more reliable like during the ghost ship arc. Yes. He’s been beaten a bit. But at least that’s one hell of a manly stance for Kujo. I only like him when he’s wearing his uniform, and not shouting VICTORICA!!! like some kid who cries for his lost candy. I just hope he stays like this. But of course, he won’t.
Well, since we just had a great arc. Like a constipated man who just finished its bowel movement. We might have to sit to another boring arc, or perhaps something mundane like the rest of the series does. Maybe, if they just focused on the serious part of the story, maybe 12 episodes is all it needs. And it may perhaps win our attention. So overall, Good arc Gosick.
Another bloody genius courtesy of Gosick, friends. My guess on the killer’s identity was correct but I wasn’t able to guess what the trio is really after. Oh well, there were unexpected bits here and the episode’s story was simply excellent!

Perhaps, if I’ll go compare the freakiness level of the three arcs presented by this series, the scariest of all would be the “grey wolves” arc, as I would call it. My suspicion of Mildred was proven wrong but there are more interesting mysteries in this episode than ever.
The village elder briefed their guests about the town. The self-sufficient village shunned itself from contact in the outside world for 400 years. Their summer solstice festival lasts for an entire day. At the festival, the villagers receive the spirits of their ancestors and pray to them for good harvest. While the elder was explaining things, he asked his assistant, Ambrose to give out his rifle and shot some wolves.
In a manor, the guests stayed for the night. The maid, Harminia, welcomed them but when she noticed Victorique looking like Cordelia, Harminia suddenly became hysterical and claimed “Cordelia’s curse can’t be erased from this entire village.” The alleged murder happened in Elder Theodore’s study. Cordelia at that time was just fifteen and she was there at midnight, it was her custom to change the water in the jug. The currently elder with a couple of other people when they saw Cordelia open the door and go inside the study. In the study, Cordelia suddenly let out a scream and ran out. The elder came in the room. Elder Theodore was stabbed in the back. Pieces of gold was also scattered in the floor. Gold that wouldn’t be used in the village are collected by Elder Theodore. From that said night, Cordelia got confined to her bed with a high fever. When her went down, the current elder banished her from the village, giving her only a gold coin and a trunk.
Victorique went out for a walk and Kujo came after. Luckily, they met Ambrose who introduced himself and was astonished with Kujo’s appearance. Victorique asked him to take them to the place where Cordelia stayed. This shocked Ambrose himself, who, upon bringing Kujo and Victorique to the place, excused himself and went out. Upon exploring the place, Victorique found a hidden compartment in the floor. Kujo helped her out in opening it and found a picture of Cordelia with a baby Victorique. Somebody came there and left the picture and he/she left a picture of adult Cordelia, Victorique concluded. Kujo and Victorique later came to Elder Theodore’s grave and when she saw a carved message saying “I am innocent… C” It was Cordelia who wrote that, this made Victorique cry and Kujo spotted green eyes.
Those are wolves and this made Kujo run with Victorique to the mansion. On the mansion, they heard Alan, Derek, and Raoul playing cards and Mildred used the telephone. Mildred changed her clothes to a dress and it also revealed her weird hairstyle. Mildred found out from Herminia that the village had a sponsor by the name of Brian Roscoe who came back to the village ten years ago.
Later, while Kujo was helping out Victorique fix her luggage, Herminia announced the availability of hot water that’d enable for a bath. This made Victorique happy and she took a bath. And she sang in the bath, and the lights suddenly came off. Kujo got alarmed when Victorique didn’t answer his calls but she came out of the bath. Somebody’s trying to scare Victorique and Kujo by putting an eye in a glass of water.
The next day, the festival started and the trio of Alan, Raoul, and Derek caused some commotion when Herminia got enraged by something they did. Mildred added about something the trio did in the Church. The rituals started, Kujo and Victorique noticed Alan walking suspiciously. Later, when the villagers burned out some of the props, they noticed the paper mache moving. This prompted Ambrose to collapse it. When they killed off the fire, it was revealed that Alan was burnt in the fire. The elder didn’t postpone the festival. Victorique disappeared out of Kujo’s sight while he was talking to her. Kujo searched in the entire village and he went to the Church.
He was dragged by Ambrose in the practice of asking the elder if he would live happily ever after with Victorique but the elder said something that freaked out Kujo. Later, he saw Victorique coming out of the church after she asked if she’d grow taller. It turned out that Victorique came into the study room to check on things. Herminia recounted/narrated how Elder Theodore was murdered with a dagger on the upper part of his back. Their heights were different. Cordelia was a 15 year-old girl and Elder Theodore, obviously is an adult. It’s impossible for a child to reach a man’s back to kill Elder Theodore. Herminia ran out when Victorique told her that there’d be another killer.
Victorique already knew who was the killer but she can’t prove it. Suddenly, the elder and Ambrose went out of the church in a panic over some “wild wolves.” They ran into the woods and the elder shot through a long distance but he instead shot Raoul. And Victorique whispered “That’s the second” to Kujo…

From what I see I can now speculate who’s the killer but I can’t tell you who…
Discuss the episode on our forums here. Also, Gosick is available for viewing in crunchyroll local.
Sometimes I wonder what’s in the sleeves of the director/scriptwriter. Several surprises in every episode is in store for me. There’s something that changed, though. I can feel, or predict rather, some of the elements/events in the next episode, story-wise. Also, I wonder what happened to Kuiaran II in last episode? All we know is she fell off the stairs with Victorique throwing a pile of books on her. And what is her real identity? Is she the one who killed the guy in the motorcycle and was just released on bail?
I also didn’t expect more details of Victorique’s identity and past to be revealed in this episode. I feel that it’s too early for that but like what I said, the director/scriptwriter may have something in their sleeves.
The real Avril and Kujo went around and explored the market. There, they found the following; a mysterious magician who took and converted Kujo’s textbooks into an arabian hat after getting humiliated by botching-up a trick in public; and a theft of a Dresden dish being sold by a nun. When Avril tried to wind up a music box, it exploded, a flock of pigeons flew and the dish disappeared.
Kujo rushed to tell Victorique of what happened in the market but he had to fix Victorique’s mess of candies. Victorique noticed the hat but as Kujo’s about to explain things, she put it aside telling him she’s bored. Still, Kujo was able to tell Victorique about the things that happened. Kujo told her to try on the hat and Grevil went to talk to them.
Grevil mistook Victorique of Cordelia Gallo. Victorique told Grevil that it was the nun who stole the plate. She’s hiding pigeons inside of her dress and she’s seating on the pigeons’ cage. When the music box exploded, the nun released the pigeons and hid the plate when the people were distracted by explosion and pigeons.
The next day, it was written on the newspaper that Grevil wasn’t able to catch the nun and they’re still aren’t able to find the missing plate and while he was reading the newspaper, he saw an advert calling “The descendants of the grey wolves” to join the summer solstice festival. Kujo brought the news to Victorique. She stood up and walked towards somewhere but she tripped and made Kujo eat a candy and fetch books from different floors. Kujo later played a little prank on Victorique by tapping her forehead but this made her angry and not to talk to him.
That night, Kujo saw Victorique moving her travel trunk. Kujo thought she caught cavities so he decided to accompany and teach Victorique the way out. He tried bringing her to the dentist but she bought a train ticket to Horovitz. On the train, Victorique still isn’t talking to Kujo and suddenly, the nun who was selling the dish came to their cabin and is going to the same destination. The nun introduced herself as Mildred and was raised in the town.
They arrived in Horovitz. Kujo talked with the hotel/inn’s caretaker about the place. Victorique brought her luggage all by herself, ignoring Kujo’s offer to bring it for her.
A howling of wolves woke Kujo up and he saw Victorique in the hallway. They talked for a while but when Victorique remembered about their fight last time, she suddenly went back to her room and threw things on poor Kujo when he followed. She only stopped doing so when Kujo asked about her purpose on traveling without Grevil’s permission.
Victorique traveled to prove someone’s innocence – Cordella Gallo’s. Cordella Gallo is her mother! Cordella was a dancer who wore woolen cloth and exotic make-up. Her hometown was the Village of the Grey Wolves. Marquis de Blois wanted to insert the ability of the Grey Wolves into his bloodline. However, Marquis learned of Cordella’s secret that she was a criminal and was exiled from the village. Because of that, Marquis regretted introducing Victorique’s blood into his bloodline. Cordella escaped and threw herself in the World War One and Victorique was confined in a tower and got raised there. Victorique doesn’t believe that her mother committed a crime.
The next day, they traveled to the village using a horse carriage. They traveled with four people namely; Alan, Raoul, Derek and Mildred. Mildred seems to be looking at Victorique. When they arrived at the village, some of the villagers were in attack mode and was agitated more when they saw Victorique, who they immediately recognised as Cordella’s daughter because of her splitting image in Victorique. One elder stopped them from attacking, claiming that Victorique’s a descendant of the grey wolves despite her mother being a murderer…

Now, I find Mildred suspicious, why did she looked at Victorique as if Victorique’s a lost family member? Maybe Mildred’s actually Cordella who assumed a different a identity and a nun’s appearance? Who knows!
P.S.: Cordella’s seiyuu is set to be Miyuki Sawashiro, the same one who voiced Iwasawa and Celty. Also, I’ve decided not to do some batch episode blogging from Star Driver and StarrySky. I think I’ll just write about the interesting bits P.P.S.: The magician in the market seems to be an expy of Lockon Stratos from Gundam 00.
