It’s has been ages since I watch Sket dance. But here I am continuing my gruelling slow-paced blogging of such. I finally get to see the final match, which was a battle of wits and bluff. I don’t see much suspense in all, of the pent-up tension it presented. The President doesn’t have that evil aura to disband something out of sheer boredom. But we do see that show does keep in mind the things we are interested in, SKET-dan.
KA KA KA KA … You would think I stop blogging this series eh, think not! Finally, that damn fansub just released its version. I don’t get why this isn’t being done like the other series they are subbing; they’re still using the TV rip of the series, so I don’t see any reason for the delay. However, this arc is quite entertaining. It’s a nice gateway to flesh our 3 main characters, as well to provide further depth to the student council. So far, only Tsubaki has the lead on being someone who we know before.
I’m still keeping Sket Dance, I just got fed up with Horrible sub and their stupid mistakes. It’s no joke DL episode on a 1Mbps line. I would be glad if they can just release a patch and get over it, but no, they instead release another video to download. Argh. I’m going for a quality sub, even if it takes me longer to watch. At least it keeps me from watching old anime until the summer impression is up.
It has this episode 3 vibe with how this show is presented. But and not being an annoying shouting contest, it was a very funny two short skits. I like the addition of the geography teacher in the cast. He sort-of had a funny lines, and I think he has other wierd things in-store of us. The first half is also interesting, albeit mostly on the in-show mahou shoujo shows that is used for your yankee girl. That kind of drama does reach a new level, even far more than what Madoka can give, if properly given direction. By the way, I like the art the screen cap above.
Tried and tested formulas aren’t really that bad. Yes. The latest episode of Sket Dance pulled that cliché love story that we all had seen and watched. But we don’t have to be disgusted for something that isn’t new. In fact, this episode’s love story was executed nicely that it has this nice feeling of “awwww…”.
I initially thought that this episode didn’t have that much spunk as it’s great first episode. But watching it the second time, it does have it merits on being a very good one. We get to see Tsubaki and Bossum getting themselves in a challenge, to which SKET dance’s future is at stake. We get to see drama here, that I personally see in Gintama. What episode 3 failed in delivering the emotions, it was certainly fixed on this one. Granted, this episode still suffers its flaws, and we don’t see any hint of ever fixing them. But at least, they’re tolerable, and non-obtrusive specially on the drama part.
SKET DANCE is doing another hit-or-miss here. This week’s episode gave me two things, a good one and a bad one. The good one is that we’re finally introduced to the School Disciplinary Committee, which I mentioned in my first impressions that it will bring something interesting to the table. As I foresee them as a big obstacle with Bossun and the gang. The bad one, our case-of-the-week being nothing but silly rivalries and another classic Anime bullying. Oh boy, If this episode didn’t give way for the council, I wouldn’t let it pass for a meh.
What can I say on this episode? There was a bit more shouting unlike 04, but not as annoying as 02. The ghost issue is pretty much boring. Rivalry between Switch and Sadako is petty for a mystery of the week. Bossun and Onihime are bit useless in this episode and sometimes irritating. More so that they’re nothing but sidekicks toward the entire show. Unlike in EP 03, Switch isn’t all that bad given that he isn’t just a kid talking over a voice synthesiser. For a nerdy guy, he’s pretty popular. I like that.
Overall, there isn’t really anything deep to talk about here. I wish they could do a gaiden and at least show us how SKET DANCE is formed. So far, I’m not happy.
Oh, I’ll be doing the episode blogging of this series. Since I kinda like this series (starting to lean on the opposite end now). I might as well have it on a separate post rather than put it in my well-spring commentaries.
