C has a lot of potential to go above what Eden of the East has placed itself. It was a bizarre Anime that deals with topical issues in Economics, topping it off with Pokemon battles. With its end, C has manage to interest enthusiast by guessing the actions behind the mysteries of the Financial District, making it its strongest magnet to viewers. However, the pacing and lack of direction simply crumbles the ambitious scale of this world. It’s potential is what brought it down in the end, trying to fit an epic scale story in under 11 episode. But the direction and how countless theories, and philosophies manage to drag it self to be above your normal anime, it was never became boring and each episode is rich with discussions that keep fellow otakus rolling on its reasons.

C has this great premise and setting which both are delivered wonderfully. The financial district is a masterwork of concept, and philosophies that makes an Enthusiast go on thinking heavily upon its unexplained implications. However, no matter how good the setting and the character is presetned. There always lies a purpose in all of it. C’s weakness lies on how things just fall flat in making an interesting story in its rich world. The last episode didn’t hit much of a mark when it comes brining the climax it has delivered in the last two episode. There are also quite a number of plotholes that aren’t fixed, which has been there since the beginning of the series. We all know that the Kimimaro is fighting for the future of the country, and Mikuni is fighting for the sake of his coma sister. All the blabbing during the fight was pointless, rather, something we all been obvious. No need to explain it to us. Although I forgive them for that, since they are also doing something rather than standing and preaching like it’s Sunday.

I was initially under the impression that C’s pacing has some issues. There are a lot stuff that is being left out, and most of the revelations are the result of this mysterious mechanics that governs the world C is in. I also have issues with the plot, as to where Kimmimaro falls into this is still a mystery up till now. But when Kuro to pay more attention to the events that is unfolding, I got to see that there is a cohesive plot that has been in its gears, I was fixated on the character development that I didn’t notice.  Read the rest of this entry

First of: Wonderful episode of C. We can see that there’s this big air of suspense that is about to fall over to us within a couple of episode. It was also an interesting take on the collapse of the ASEAN economy at the turn of the next millennium. The one that our people blamed to Erap for being incompetent. Eventually, we were able to recover, but still miles away from a full recovery unlike the other nations near us. The collapse of Singapore is a huge turn point in this episode. We get to see the effect of the Financial district to the world, and the horrors that it goes to disappear as well the memories contained in it. Its effects however seems to affect other Nations as well, and it is up to Mikuni and the gang to set up economic controls to prevent the country fall into the economic black-hole that is pending to happen.

I find that first half of this episode a bit of a waste. For a series that isn’t have the luxury of time; making a waste on such trivial things. Although the second half has its moment’s for Masyu and her relationship with Kimimaro. It would be better of that they spend those time, getting with the main story and have the characters develop on there. This week’s C doesn’t live much to the last one. Read the rest of this entry

I like this message in this episode. Aside from the epic, yet, shortened battles in the financial district. This anime is really taking societies behavior upfront. Tackling how society tackles conflict, or issues to which is very present today. With the RH bill, and other problems our countries have. The key players in this series embodies their ideas for us to see, as to where do we stand in all this. Read the rest of this entry

We get further into the exposition regarding the Midas’ money, how the future impacts the event in the Financial district and how Souichiro balances the effects it has in the real world.

Oh please. Don’t tell me that C is just another Pokemon-esque battle involving money. If the battles were this awesome, it would had been up to caliber with Final Fantasy for being “cool”. C isn’t just about cute assets selling themselves for the highest bidder, or doing 007 calisthenics. It’s about Money and how it shapes your future.
