After Full Metal Alchemist, Ao no Exorcist took over to cover our not-so-your-typical shounen series for these two season. Yeah, it has its moments; certainly it has the production quality to deliver great combat where it need to. It also has a decent drama and characterization to boot. It does deserve a notion on being good overall, but it doesn’t have what it takes to be this years best.
Dear God, let me finish this article so I can finally be able to do the rest of my backlogs, any this would be just short and brief. I’ll just be writing my summary of episodes 3 and 4. I’ll be back in narrating and the episodes on the fifth episode. Among the Spring offerings, it seems that this show and HanaIro are the only two shows that gives me the entertainment I need, nonetheless I’d be still continuing to write about AoEx even if my posts get delayed. Vacation is ending already, oh well…

Nicely done and pulled-off! As expected from the budget and hype on this series. The first two episodes serve as the introductory arc, apparently. There is a heavier theme here, when it comes to both emotion and plot. There’s some drama on this episode and it came from Rin. We’re also introduced to Japan’s True Cross Knight Order representative and Father Fujimoto’s best friend, Pheles Mephisto. There was several things explained in this episode, making it vital for anyone wanting to pick this series up to pay attention to this episode.
There’s now an OP, it’s performed by UVERworld. I cannot comment yet on the song, though…

I’ll skip up the first impressions post for this one and I’ll go jump and mix some of it into an episode entry for this one. Yes, I’ll be trying to write about this despite some companies licensing it and most release groups dropping it. You might remind me to go fix my backlogs in Star Driver, Fractale and GOSICK but I must say I should catch-up with my picks for this season. I’m no longer continuing Star Driver and Fractale entries. It’s too mind raep if I do cram and rush my Fractale entries and it’d be better if I’d just do a Star Driver review in the nearby future.
Now, let’s go back to the first episode of Ao no Exorcist, it’s overall a mixture of things: suspense, comedy, slice-of-life, and supernatural (of course, it deals with Exorcism). This first episode introduces us to the primary main characters, the Church klerk and Father Fujimoto, the guardian of the twins, Yukio and Rin Okumura. It was a good thing and overall impression for Ao no Exorcist as if God answered my prayer of having a good group release the first EP and a good first episode for this. Despite both of them both dealing with daemons and spirits, Ao no Exorcist anime adaptation feels lightyears ahead of the initially okay but ultimately boring Nurarihyon no Mago.
Ao no Exorcist’s pacing is okay and might even be better than other shounen series out there. Same with the animation and the themes, played straight and great. So what happened and how was the first episode? Read along…
