I have this certain affinity towards any kind of cats. Watching an anime that has a fat lazy cat in it is always a good thing; especially if I have to look forward of seeing this cute kid once every week. Natsume Yuujinchou’s third season upholds its crown in brining heart-warming episodic shorts that will make your day great. With its fourth season being announce in lieu of the last episode. Let me give you what makes this third season a good watch for those who had tuned in to this series.
This series season, despite it’s episodic theme goes out to bring colour to our protagonist by small chunks. This episode is by far the best in the series. It really hit home on Natsume in so many levels, the story is very warm and teary. It also goes to flesh out Tokou-san and Fujiwara-san a lot and details on how he ended up to a place he called home.
Don’t you think Natsume has BL in it? Well, it doesn’t abide to the laws from which the Anime industry sets itself upon, from the successes of K-On. But this is what separates creators who does thing without having succumb the industry norm, and just continues what it wants. Well, BL is such a strong term for a series like this. We could put it in a bromance kind of relationship. Takuma and Natsume are all love-dovey concerned to each other that it’s almost embarrassing to them. Nice.
Did Nastume grew some hair there? Oh, that’s not what I’m talking about. eh? You’re not thinking about that? Anyway, we get another development from Natsume for having to keep everything about the youkai business away from his friends and relatives. In which, I totally agree on him of doing that, right? Don’t fix what ain’t broken. Yet, this episode also proves that it also puts burden on the people around him, having to second guess what Natsume is keeping all this time. The truth shall set you free. As it implies.
We went back to the laid back one-shot formula that makes this series great. What is more interesting is that we get a shota fox in the mix. Oh, a double interest in this episode for me. But with the great build up and one-shot story, the basic lesson is pretty much the same like in all the other one-shot stories it had. Nevertheless, enjoy the cute nyanko pic.
Not much to say about this episode. It got anti-climax around the end, and I can’t seem to take how convenient the scenario presented. I have to agree on psegel for pointing that the characters do posses faster healing, and all. I do see that the plot got a bit forced this time around. But maybe on the series standpoint, we now have a physical villain to channel our hatred toward.
I was pre-occupied with something rendering me to not being able to write in such a timely manner. But I do watch anime whenever I want to. This episode steer itself away from the formula which it has done for so long, to focus on a more action oriented one. It does maintain its mellow atmosphere, but it does make also goes to put action into the spot light. Although, I’m having difficulty on remembering the characters that appeared, the quality remains the same, and thus I have pretty much nothing to complain.
This episode is a wow. Although, I find it odd that Nastume is acting like in the first season, given the wonderful previous episode. He is becoming accepting of his unique talent, and yet we see a cautious Natsume. Despite it, the girls Grandfather was the focus of the story and it was played quite well. I’m such a sucker for these kinds of gigs.
