Hunter X Hunter 20: Brother’s Boy

February 21st, 2012 by Mr.A

That’s it for the Hunter exam. What can I say, it’s a roller-coaster ride of dull and interesting things all together. Sadly, the new series seem to skip on putting importance on the last phase of the exam. There’s rarely any fighting in it. But I doubt they will skip on the tournament part later in the series. But first, we get to have a little detour in the way.

And in a delightful display of child abuse, Hunter x Hunter just showed how old works are made classics. If you hadn’t felt the frustration of everyone being driven to the point of fury, then it means that you don’t have a soul! You can’t see this violence that is meaningful, which isn’t just about making you cringe in the utter gore it brings.

Hunter X Hunter 17: Gon and His Pride

February 6th, 2012 by Mr.A

It has been a slow week in Anime lately and I am also feeling a bit under the weather. I finally got to play Suikoden and has posted the first part of my retro-gaming. I’ll follow this up within the few days. In terms of the series above, little has change in last phase of the 3rd exam between the old and the new.

Hunter x Hunter 17: Snakes in a Cave

January 30th, 2012 by Mr.A

Ain’t Gon cute? Seeing the latest chapter of Hunter X Hunter, who wouldn’t want to see this face again in the manga. I like this episode, even if it’s a bit slow. That hesitation on his answer if he got his tag should be a give away that he didn’t have them. Kurapika and Lerio knew that something’s up, but chose not to meddle further. I like how things just turn without saying anything, and if those body language get to you, then you are paying attention and certainly you like this series.

Hunter x Hunter 16: Hisouka’s Urge

January 23rd, 2012 by Mr.A

If there is one thing that is unique about the new hunter is how Hisoka is portrayed. Just look at how creepy he is. He’s just more than a wildcard in this game. But he’s turning into this paedophile with a range of tastes.

Hunter of Old vs New

January 17th, 2012 by Mr.A

I get to read a lot of comparisons over the old Hunter vs the New one. How one is better than the other. But it always get to me that people compare it far more than actually looking at the actual episode. One known blogger seem to get stuck in that tangent, and I often find it irritating to read. So since I’m writing few episodes this season and one last season, starting next week onwards I’ll be doing episode blogging of Hunter X Hunter.

I’ve waited for a month to get to this scene. This is one of those early indicators if HxH will deliver the same level of violence to get its “definitive” brand across the new audience. Many Anime Enthusiast look forward that the remake will be in equal or to an above level as to its predecessor, so this one seals a great deal of it.

I careless what differs between this series from that old one. What I only care is that the story goes as it should in the Manga. It’s a remake for god’s sake. Madhouse has the liberty to tune it in any way it can. In a positive note, the core elements are present. That’s what matter. Gon and Killua are back, and we get to see intelligent action that isn’t just about the power of friendship and love.

I was very enthusiastic that there’s another Hunter X Hunter series going to be released this Fall season. Being the one of the few series that has influenced me during my younger years, watching it on TV. It as a definite place in my heart, and it also goes automatically in my blog list for this Autumn 2011 season.
