I am happy that after many moons past, I am able to write for dere-moe. Sure, I was busy doing stuff on my main venture, but as part of the project staff, I can’t resist to tell you, my readers (especially those who didn’t attend the event) that this one deserves its recognition in the Philippine Cosplay industry. More than that, I am happy to tell you that I enjoyed my fandom much better in this event than other events that solely focus on Cosplay (including those which are organized by your nearby shopping mall).
If you were planning to go here but did not make it, your biggest regrets. Not only you missed your favorite cosplayer, but taking away a part of your happiness in the process. With that, we shall proceed.
Basically, what I did is ask Cosplayers I found interesting in my sight (1) Why did they Cosplay the character they are Cosplaying and (2) How long it took to make those costumes. Additional character references were also asked, such as one where I asked a Kuroyukihime Cosplayer “Where’s Haru?” or for far worse (with exaggeration), I asked a certain Asuna Cosplayer, “Where’s Kirito?”.
Here are additional ones, for your perusal.
Decking the halls, bros.
Aside from roaming down the halls and being stuck in a visual smorgasbord, I did not fail to miss a number of booths inside, such as those from media partners TV5 and Animax. I won’t comment on what happened to the TV5 segments due to the fact that TV5 nowadays is not airing anime series, enough said.
Animax surprised everyone that they will get [K] which is on the Fall 2012 Anime lineup, and safe to say, with an all-star voice cast, this is sure the hyped anime of the season. I don’t need to explain further. Animax went there to promote the said anime and bringing with them is Alodia, for probably the first time in my CosMania visits.
The rest of the exhibitors were great ones, although I have no resources to spend for things, so they aren’t what I am focusing now. After getting free photo souvenirs from the Animax and All-Nippon Airways booths, I walked through Hall 5 to witness the Tournament of Champions 3rd Impact, of which Adventure Team got the top spot. (I remember that what they did is the same thing when they competed in the North EDSA leg of the tourney). Me and
PSY in a racing jacket Mr. A left the event taking turns as Nostradamus and predicts who will win the tourney (I rpedicted that one from Team MARCH — Omega or Harue — will win the top spots while he predicted Adventure Team will go to the AFA RCCs), and alas, we sure are Nostradamus in our own right.
After months of damnation due to the community being bombarded by dumb mainstream media people, I guess I loved the Cosplay fandom once more after going to this event. Cosplay is something you enjoy to do, and you’re not forced to do so if you don’t, I believe. The people inside the event has shown that example to me, I humbly guess.
I asked someone I don’t know, I share their same interests in Anime and I opened up to the world suddenly. With that, I close this post.
