Fall 2012 TV Anime Season Preview
By DJ Meganekon on Tue, 11th Sep 2012
The Fall Anime Season is always special to me, it was during this season three years ago when I watched anime again after some 3-4 years of total inactivity due to a decision I still regret up to the very moment I’m writing this. The upcoming Fall 2012 Anime season would be notable for a handful of sequels and continuations. Compared to Summer 2012, some of the upcoming anime are fairly interesting and promising. Also, I shall try to write first impressions of these even if it’s already a choke-point of examinations during their air dates. Should I really focus on seiyuu CDs, character design criticism, and Light Novels instead? We’ll have to find out when we undergo corporate restructuring.
NOTE: Total accuracy of information here cannot be promised. Details may change without prior notice.
Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes
Battle Spirits is a card-game media franchise with several series since the original aired in the year 2008. Those familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh! and Cardfight! would feel at home watching this show. This particular show is already the fifth in the franchise. Story is what you’d expect from series of similar shounen demograph, theme, and genre.
Ixion Saga DT
Set to be produced by Brains Base, the same guys who brought us the magnificent Durarara!! and Natsume Yuujinchou series, this anime is directed by the same guy who directed classics such as Gundam X and School Rumble, this fantasy anime game adaptation centres on a young man who embarked on a journey to another world and later get involved in the conflict. Top-billed seiyuu would also be lending their voices for characters in this anime. It wouldn’t surprise if fujoshi would flock over this anime for their favourites would be here!
Magi
A fantasy story based on the Arabian Nights tales, Magi centres on Aladdin and his adventures and encounters with the other Arabian Nights. This one is set to be produced by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex and it shares some staff with Code Geass and that cringe-worthy infamous anime, Guilty Crown. Cast are still yet to be revealed.

Chou Soku Henkei Gyrozetter
A-1 Pictures would produce this anime adaptation of a card game which depicts battles between cars that transform into robots. It also seems that some of these cars are licensed by car manufacturers, especially with the use of a Japanese sportscar’s logo on one of the robots.
Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun
A shoujo romantic comedy set to be produced by Brains Base with famous seiyuu lending their voices and staff who worked on Kimi ni Todoke, Welcome to the NHK!, Jigoku Shoujo, and Kuroko no Basuke working on it. Music is set to be done by one of the ELEMENTS GARDEN staff.

Staff working on this previously worked with Break Blade, Honey and Clover, Hunter x Hunder (1999), Senkou no Night Raid, Melody of Oblivion, Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo.

Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
Another romantic comedy light novel adaptation, it centres on an ordinary highschool boy who gets to be master over a clumsy and seemingly-absent minded girl. Famous seiyuu and rising stars are set to lend their voices here, and J.C.Staff would be producing this anime.
Little Busters!
Finally, after the infamous waiting period, Little Busters! is finally getting its own anime adaptation. Cast for the anime differs a little bit from the original VN cast. Horie Yui is set to voice the main character. Key’s decision to have J.C.Staff work on the adaptation was once heavily-criticised by Key and Kyoto Animation fans, now let’s see if the decision is all right.
Suki-tte Ii na yo.
A promising romantic drama with the main heroine getting the kiss from the most popular boy in her school. He did it to protect her from a stalker. The director for this anime also worked on the anime adaptations for Fate/Stay Night and Steins;Gate.
