MUSIC REVIEW: Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate anime OP and ED songs
By DJ Meganekon on Thu, 30th Aug 2012
If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you’ll know that I once did a music review of Hanazawa-sama’s first audio single with lots of fanboy snobbery. In this post, I would be reviewing the KoiChoco anime OP and ED singles, but I shall write a short summary of my thoughts instead.
[Single] Signal Graph
Track 01 – Signal Graph – 04:45
Track 02 – STEP AHEAD – 04:44
It’s not my first time hearing Annabel sing a song for an anime. I honestly liked her song used in Another’s ending theme. Her song Sankarea also surprised me. Her song for the KoiChoco OP is also another surprise, although I have this feel that she could have done better in terms of the vocals. “STEP AHEAD” B-side is an entirely different thing, same catchy beat and goes excellently with her wonderful vocals. Overall, it’s very good. (Rating: 78/100)
[Single] Kaze no Naka no Primrose
Track 01 – Kaze no Naka no Primrose – 04:44
Track 02 – Amorossia – 04:49
To be honest with you, I’m not so familiar with Ceui nor with her background, but after listening to this audio single; I might become a fan. The tone and beat for the A-side matches well the romantic writing tone of the anime and it has several references to the plot of some routes in the original game. Her voice is almost perfect, it’s only in 3:20-3:31 where her pitch had been a little off. The B-side is a complete contrast over the A-side. It has a faster beat compared to the A-side and Ceui’s vocals still matches doesn’t miss with the beat. This is an excellent audio single. (Rating: 83/100)
