Hyouka 12

If there’s one thing Hyouka does best aside from it’s visuals, it has to be the entertainment and narration. Those who’re looking for Mysteries would be quite disappointed with this episode as there’s no trace of Mystery in this episode so far. How this episode illustrates Houtarou’s relationship with his older sister is also interesting.

This episode is also hilarious! If you’d think that this episode would be the Cultural Festival where the narration is mostly about the Classic Literature Club distributing and selling their anthology, you’re mistaken. It covers mostly the “exploration” of the events and the school through Ibara Mayaka and Chitanda Eru. Mayaka had her little thing in the manga society and cosplaying while Eru got interested in what the clubs had to offer, enough for her to almost forget her duty as the Classic Literature Club’s president. Meanwhile, Houtarou just did his “job” which is to take care of the booth. Funnily and luckilg for him, only a single man visited and bought a copy. A large ton of extra cast lent their voices for this episode, although the most notable is Fukuyama Jun voicing a commitee member. And, oh, there’s a new ending theme! I personally find it amusing especially because it has a number of ship implications, with the four main characters cosplaying prominent public-domain characters.
