Binbougami-ga!‘s second episode had me cracking left and right with all of the parodies and references contained in the various scenes here. We also get to see how effective the direction is, with how it handles the visuals and the writing to create a conducive function for laughs and funny entertainment

We’re introduced to Ichiko and her irritation with the Momiji following her around even at school, that lead a wandering priest to town and give her a weapon that allows her to summon familiars in her struggle against Momiji. It’s also funny that this Buddhist priest is a little perverted and finds most of the Fortune concentrated on Ichiko’s… well… uhm… you know that……… pillows? Wrong euphemism… Anyway, comedy sure is the most powerful thing present in this episode. Nope, not the Fortune and Misfortune energy levels, but rather the scriptwriting is superb enough that just listening to the seiyuu pronounce the lines can crack laughs or two. That doesn’t include the potential laughs that the quirky, but done right, visuals can deliver. Lastly, the direction uses all of these factors to give out a fun ride watching this.
