Kimi to Boku 2 Review

With the spring season starting to roll its curtain. Kimi to Boku did manage to make itself more enjoyable than its previous season. It has more development and interesting stories to tell. It also manage to makes simple Highschool problem as it center piece to make it easier for the audience to get sympathy from. By the end, you get to understand them and feel for their personalities as they roll off in their life from High School to college.
I personally like this series this time around. Its pacing was nice and as it may, they did goof around like before, but this time it has more reason than being your average “boys being insufferably nice to each other” kind of vibe.
I read in other blogs that one of the pitfalls in the series is Chizuru for being annoying and all. But for me, Chizuru is the best character in the series and has manage to develop to a wonderful character. His relationship to Mary is very sweet and despite that it has one of those “romance” troupes, they pulled it without dragging it for too long. Although they did drag it by not talking about it since season one, they did resolve much of the issue when it did decide to focus on it. As much as he is very talkative and forcefully engage himself with the gang’s activities and problem. He does do so as a gesture of concern and friendship. We could also put into a situation that he did have a feeling of loneliness from him, as I remember on his story back at season one. He does this because he like to be happy and being happy means enjoying time with friends. I think, he knew better that they won’t be like this in the future and put up a lot of effort in making the best of the time they had. I don’t know, I’m over thinking this.
Overall. Kimi to Boku manages to land a positive impression to me. With most of the content focused on developing the character and with much improve story is a welcome to the franchise. Since most of the core components of the series are there, I do think that this would warrant another season. But how far is the next season will be, with them finally leaving High School is left to be seen. But it would be an interesting story to delve into.
