Unless you’re slow to pick-up pranks, you’d still know that I would not drop Mouretsu Pirates and it’s wonderful story-telling. Recently that I discovered that the director is cutting all romance tones in the script in favour of friendship. If the things building-up are signs, then this has to be an excellent yuri-genre anime when those tones were retained. It seems that this episode marks a start of a new story arc but there are some fishy things going on here.

The return from the Serenity mission also comes with Marika becoming a second-year student in Hakouh Academy. On their way back, Gruier sent her an urgent message recalling them to a planet under the Serenity Royal Family. In the next day, it was clarified that Gruier gave honoured them and gave Marika a medal for the ‘help’ they gave for the Royal Family. This also made Marika and Hakuoh popular. Mami suggested to her that she should wear the pirate outfit during the yacht club’s recruitment. However, Marika rejected the idea.

Marika overslept the next day and came rushing to school. Luckily, the Serenity limousine coincidentally drove by. On the club meeting during the same day, Gruenhilde joined the club. Lynn later told Jenny in a video conference that the club was tasked on to protect the two princesses, Gruier and Gruenhilde.

During the closing hours of the Lamp House, Gruier went to the café in order to get a chance to talk to Marika more. Gruier confided to Marika that Serenity is divided with reformist and conservative factions and Marika saved them by making the Ghost Ship go back to the Serenity system. Gruier later gave back an administrator’s ID ring, which belonged to Gozaemon Kato, to Marika. It wasn’t clearly answered if Gozaemon Kato really gave the ring and Gruier said she wants to give it to Marika.

Marika invited the princesses for a dinner next day for a little talk which was hilariously ‘ruined’ by a little mistake by Gruenhilde to eat a spicy mustard. As a compensation for the incident, Marika gave Gruenhilde a stuffed toy.

The Bentenmaru‘s next mission is to transport some weapons, medicine, and a Bio-container containing “Cat Monkeys.” This sounds another adventure for them. This time, the client would be the government.

I honestly smell something fishy here, why was the ring with Gruier? How did she meet Gozaemon Kato? I feel that she or the Serenity may have something to do with Gozaemon Kato’s death. We’re still not sure yet so I would give this a benefit of the doubt.
