The servant and his master

Honestly, I picked this show up because of the Secret Service and Youkai themes present in the story. Did it make any difference or good mixture? Does the Romance genre mix with the two themes well? Did this show meet my expectations of it? It wasn’t up to my expectation but it still manage to entertain me. Our butler, erm, Secret Service agent is assigned to our ultra-rich heroine. He devotes himself and his loyalty to our heroine and uses tons of innovative weapons. Nope, no guns yet, but he has a good swanky knowledge of pick-up lines that Boy Pick-up would envy, and a suave bishounenbody and voice combo that would give both Mr.A and James Bond a run for their money.

The animation, art, and character designs are very good. It’s pretty interesting to see David Production impressing me on this department, since I’m almost sold-out to P.A.Works’ Another when it comes to this. Character designs and the art fit and portrays the setting and scenario without making you feel awkward on it *ehem*JCStaff and Hidan no Aria*ehem*. The art quality feels a bit damped or compromised though. Maybe most of the shows in this season is aiming to get high disk sales?

The voice acting is SUPERB! It’s as suave as the stereotypical Bachelor spies. Also, it’s interesting to note that Hidaka Rina plays the Tsundere character well, unlike how typecasted tsundere-voicing seiyuu does their respective roles. If there’s one positive thing that Ro-Kyu-Bu! created, I think it would be be the proper ‘Chemistry’ of Hikasa Youko, Hanazawa Kana, and Hidaka Rina’s voices. Note that the first two also play roles here. Other seiyuu who appeared in this first episode is Nakamura Yuuichi. He does another excellent job. I hope we see him doing more spy-ish roles in the future. I think that the music, to be honest with you, should be given time to grow on me.

Like what I saw in Mouretsu Pirates and Another, the introduction pacing and story-telling is just okay and wouldn’t confuse the viewer. The fanservice is passable and not the irritating nor cliche kind. I hope it stays as good as the time passes by. It’s a show that would be given a five-episode probation, just to be safe…
