After three episode, I like that this series doesn’t derail itself from the expectation I set last time. There isn’t much going on here. Much of the drama involve adjusting to the new life that awaits them. So how will our male lead will manage and how things will turn from this point on? Despite it’s slow pacing, I am happy with its development.
Oh that’s cute deskmoto-kun. BUT WHY ARE WE ON RECAP EPISODE! There’s nothing to talk about, beside how bad Chihayafuru sucks at making jokes. Besides, I just want to write this so that my dear readers who haven’t watched or had tuning in won’t have to ask why I skipped this episode. But still, I’m going to rank it.
Pardon for the “jologs” pic you see above. It’s been years and I can’t seem to find a decent enough picture of that said program. Anyhoo, now that you’re confused on the purpose of this post. Let me share a bit of a story, which if you known my works, I had written about this topic 3 years ago in my defunct Xagenda blog. So I figured talk about it again and see what kind of legacy this show did and how it shaped the Animation industry in bringing “anime” quality to the masses.
The more I download the 1080p subs, the more I am convinced that it’s not anything vastly different from the 720p videos. Or perhaps my eyes adjusted to the quality of Crunchyroll. How sad. No matter how I wan’t to watch it legally, it just won’t let me. But at least, it gives me faster releases so, yehey for rippers!
We’re back for another round of RtO. Yehey! Our schedules finally crossed. So we made this episode extra special. Yes. This episode is mostly dedicated to VN, mainly, the recently released game by the guys at 4 leaf studios. It’s one of the first OELVN that sticked its gun and made it very interesting. I’m also interested on it as well. So, interested we made one of its OST tracks as an intro for the show.
The second episode of Listen to Me Girls. I am Your Father (which I won’t be repeating its name) suddenly turned into a bunny drop family drama. It still has that Ro-kyu-bu vibe into it, being that the girls are pretty adorable (by how it is presented). It did pull the right strings for it to be interesting. With Winter being bleak as snow, I can fancy myself to take this in for my episode blogging. As long as character drama is concerned, I am willing to take the challenge.
One of the big things that made 2012 great so far, is that we can now see 1080p releases. That’s one major improvement, next to Animes being released in 720p. I wish I can go legit and watch from CR. But geographical restrictions are just cumbersome and it won’t let fans get what it wants. Still, Knight in the Area 3 shows that it can pull a stunt in a slightly decent portrayal of losing a love one. I like the subtle approach on this episode, but I would wish that the director to stop treating its audience like they’re brain-dead. I can piece the information myself thank you very much.
This episode clearly defines the space opera in Mouretsu Pirates and the tsundere personality of Chiaki. My wish for Chiaki’s intentions or true side to be revealed still isn’t granted but this episode still delivered the promise. The episode still focuses on the personality and abilities of Marika as a strategist, which is an important quality in a ship captain. This ‘introductory’ phase or pacing isn’t bad as we’re being acquainted to the show without having to confuse us with a fast pacing.
Having Chihaya won the match against the Queen would just end the entire series right there. But I find it satisfactory that the match ended with a loss. It’s just too shoneny if Chihaya won out of friendship and determination alone, which doesn’t bode well to a serious game as Karuta. However, it did melt some of that smirk the queen had when Chihaya got in the momentum. Sadly, it’s too late.
